Junagarh Fort is located in the Bikaner city of Rajasthan. This is a land-based fort. It was built in the 15th century during the reign of Raja Rai Singh. This fort is popular as Lalgarh palace. The renovation and reconstruction of this fort were done by Karan Chand.
A fort built with Red sandstone has Rajput architecture. However, local rulers of Bikaner had a good relations with other places. So, it also has the significance of Gujarati architecture.
There are many mahals in this fort. The carvings on the stone in these mahals are magnificent. The palaces of this fort are Anup Mahal, Badal Mahal. These palaces have mirrors on the ceilings and walls.
The architecture of this fort somehow resembles with other forts of Rajasthan. But, has some uniqueness in palaces and the change in designs on the stone.

There is a museum in this fort. Unique furniture and antiques show the lifestyle of Maharajas of Bikaner. The carvings on the ceiling are beautiful.

At the entrance of this fort, we saw large entry gates. After taking the tickets, we headed inside. Its architecture is alluring.
There are canons of the royal army in Bikaner Fort. The armory with all the weapons shows the historical presence. Cultural activities are performed in the courtyard of this fort. The garden outside this fort is a good place to spend some time.
