This is a beautiful zoo which is one of the best places to visit in Indore. It is also famous as “Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya“, which is an awesome place to visit with family in Indore.
With exciting sounds in the background, tourists can explore various species of wildlife in this zoo. This zoo is almost near to Indore city center which you can reach easily. There are many kinds of animals and birds in this zoo. When you see beautiful and colorful birds, it makes your day wonderful. And, if you are an animal lover then this is a great place to explore.

Personal Experiences
It was a Sunday evening which was a bit rainy which is the best time for traveling. After taking tickets which cost 30 rupees per head, we headed inside this zoo. At the entrance of this zoo, there is a large entry gate with statues of animals that is no doubt attractive to wildlife enthusiasts.
Near this entry gate, there is a gallery of colorful birds which is the most interesting section of this zoo. However, there are many other birds to explore in this animal park. After a few minutes of sightseeing in this zoo, raining started.
What to Expect at Indore Zoo?
It was an evening so the weather became a bit colder. Then, there are some black and grey bucks which are the most attractive animals in this park. The black long horns make it beautiful.
Now after seeing Blackbucks, comes the biggest animal in the Jungle, an Elephant. There were around 6-7 Asian elephants. In this zoo, the natural atmosphere is provided to these animals which is praiseworthy. This place is also good for kids as many of the animals and birds are new to them.

After a few minutes, we were a bit tired as it’s a large zoo with many species including birds and animal kingdoms. then, you see a peacock sharing his space with parrots. isn’t it cool! The white feathers of this peacock are really very magnificent.
Then the next one comes White Peacock. This is the best thing here in this zoo. The white peacock is unique and rare as well. Even in most wildlife parks, it’s not easy to find them which are popular as “White Peafowl”.
There are many other animals in Kamla Nehru Zoo of Indore. But, due to low light and rainy weather, pictures are not much clear.

Personal tips :
- Keep yourself away from the cage as there are some species that may harm you
- Make sure to take a water bottle, as this is a large zoo
- Follow the instructions, that are already written near the cage of wild animals
- If going with kids, see everything from a proper distance without going closer
- Don’t try to take selfies with animals, it may be fatal
Best time to visit Indore Zoo
You can visit it anytime. However, it’s good to visit in the morning or evening. And, if the weather is clear then it’s great. It takes around 2 hours to visit this zoo.
