Red Fort In New Delhi

Red Fort is one of the fort made by mughal emperors. It was being made in seventeenth century. It was the place from where king of whole ancient India lived and ruled the whole country.

History :

It was built by Shah Jahan in around 1639 AD when capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. This was built with Red stones so its called Red Fort. This Fort has Importance as its located in the Capital of India and it was used by Mughal’s for ruling the country.

About This :

At present every year on Republic day and independence day Indian national flag is hoisted at Red Fort, New Delhi. President and Prime minister also join the celebration So it has an importance all over India.

When I entered Red fort I was amazed at its unique construction. It has a beautiful architecture which was made during the Mughal period. Its art is a bit similar to forts in Rajasthan which has a glazed dome at top of the building or a place which gives it a Mughal architecture look similar to the amber fort and some other forts of Rajasthan which are the combination of Indo-Islamic architecture.

Now after looking at it from outside, I went to the ticket window and took a ticket. Cost of this ticket was 30 Rs. and 5 Rs. extra for Museum. So I took a ticket of both fort and museum for 35 Rs.
Now I headed to visit this place. Some parts of this fort were under maintenance, Though it doesn’t affect its beauty. As it was around 9 AM so the crowd was not much, that was good for me to feel it.

There are different Mahals(palaces) which have different structures like a unique building with some architectural designs. There are gardens in this fort which may be peaceful to relax and take some rest. I sat there and took a break, as I was tired. Though there are no ups and downs in this fort and palace i was tired of long travel time.

After some time I headed to visit more of this. Again there were some mahals which were under maintenance and it was not allowed to enter in some of them. You can see it from outside as it is open from all sides.

Museum :

After all of this, I went to the museum which is inside red fort boundary i.e. just near to gates of the red fort. So After you have visited this fort you can visit the museum. This Museum is nice after all. There are some antiques which were being used in early centuries. There are arms, soldier dress, and some sword and many other too. I also found Swords, knives, shields of soldiers and weapons too. I was surprised at those weapons that they too had those guns and such weapons at that time. These ancient antiques show how they fought for there country or a region and how they survived in that time for there self-respect. It shows how they lived there life by facing many wars with their enemies. After all, this is a place where you can know many things about history and ancient culture. This is a great historical place.

This is a trip for those also who don’t like to know much about history as it has a garden and some places where you can take great pictures. so it’s not just history, you can learn many things from this place.

There are some shops near to entry gate where you can buy clothes, caps or some other useful products.
