This is a Baveri(stepwell) which is one of the unknown places of Jaipur. It is a wonderful place with the ambiance of nature and heritage.
It is popular as Panna Meena ka Kund for locals. This stepwell has many steps. And, also has fishes inside which makes it an exciting tourist spot in Jaipur.
The surrounding atmosphere becomes delightful with the screaming of peacocks. And, also there are some beautiful fishes inside this well that makes this baveri wonderful.

History of Panna Meena Ka Kund
This is a Baori(a stepwell) which was constructed in the 16th century. This baori was built by Panna Meena who was a warrior to satisfy the need for water. However, it was also a place for public gatherings.
Jaipur state was ruled by Meena’s. Then Rajputs took over the rule of the same. Locals say that Panna Meena was killed by Rajput rulers. While some say that this stepwell was constructed in the dedication of a former princess of Jaipur.

It was a rainy season so, the weather was awesome. When I came back home from work, I decided to go outdoors. Then, he joined me after a few minutes.
On the Way
There are elephants and magnificent views of landscapes on the way because Amer lies on a hill. So, the way is very exciting. There are also some gates of amber before the entrance to the town. Sometimes buses and vehicles get stuck in this narrow way due to traffic congestion.
After reaching Amer town, the views of Amber fort are indeed enticing which is near to this Stepwell. In addition, Jaigarh fort and Nahargarh fort also portrays the culture of Jaipur. Most of the peoples don’t know about this Baori in Jaipur, even the locals.
How to Reach Panna Meena Ka Kund
It lies in the Amer town which is just 10 kilometers far from Jaipur. You can easily reach here by city bus or a taxi.
Time to Visit
You can visit Panna Meena baori between 9 am to 6 pm which takes around 1 hour to explore this place. Visiting such places is best in the rainy season.
